Students MUST have their cell phones on them at all times and their cell phones must be charged, so that Mr. Uhler is able to get in touch with them at all times. When students are walking to their rounds, they MUST be accompanied by another student or adult. No exceptions. If a student is unable to find a student or adult to walk with them to a round, they must contact Mr. Uhler via cell phone. Students who choose not to walk to their rounds with another student or adult, and students who choose to walk around campus by themselves, will receive severe disciplinary consequences. Any behavior that does not represent Westlake in a positive light will result in dismissal from the team at the semester.
Students competing in the afternoon on Friday will be meeting in Mr. Uhler's room at 12:21 (after 4th period) and leaving Westlake by 12:30pm. I will set up a carpool for these students. These students will be excused from their 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th periods on Friday. Students should make sure that their teachers are aware of their absence and that they have all of the make-up work/homework necessary/turned in to their teacher. Students may leave their stuff in my office in the morning on Friday. Students, make sure you bring money to purchase food on campus at UT, or bring a sack lunch and dinner.
The students will be finished competing at approximately 10:30/11:00pm on Friday night, and should be back at Westlake at around 11:00 or 11:30pm.
I will set up the following carpools: Friday at 12:30pm from Westlake to UT, Friday at 10:30/11:00pm from UT to Westlake, Saturday at 6:30am from Westlake to UT, and Saturday at 10:30pm (may be earlier depending on how smoothly the tournament runs) from UT to Westlake.
If any parent is able to carpool to or from UT at the above times, please let me know ASAP. Thank you to all of the parents for your help!
The epicenter of activity for the UT tournament is at the University Teaching Center at 21st and Speedway. Parents, if you are dropping students off/picking them up, the students will be congregating outside of the UTC (white building next to the PCL).
Because parking is such a hassle, no students may drive themselves to this tournament.

I only ask students who I believe are prepared competitively and are able to take on the responsibility associated with this tournament. The tournament is spread all over the UT campus. You will need to have your cell phone on you (charged) at all times. You will need to walk with another member of the team if you are going to be walking around campus. If you do anything that is deemed to be not in the best interest of the team, we will discuss whether or not you will remain on the team.
